PRO TIP: WASH YOUR FACE TO AVOID ACNE

But seriously, if you’re not washing your face daily, what are you doing??

Hey Chasers,

Washing your face is our first and most obvious tip to avoiding acne. Many of us are getting ready to go back to school or back to working in the office and glowing skin is the confidence boost we all need right now.

Since we’re the pros, when we say, “girl, wash your face,” what we mean is, take some pride in your skincare routine! We highly recommend using a combination of SkinBetter’s Detox Scrub and Oxygen Wash throughout the week. Exfoliating is so good for your skin, but in this case, there is too much of a good thing. Here’s how to divvy it up: Our skin guru Lisa Perdue recommends using the Detox Scrub three times a week max. The Oxygen Wash could and should be used daily, once (if not twice!) in the morning or at night.

Remember maskne? It’s a new term to define the acne caused by wearing a mask. As we head back to school or the office, you may want or need to wear your mask, and we have tips for avoiding the acne that might throw a party in and around your chin and cheek area.

Masks break down our natural skin barrier because of the constant fiction against our skin. This allows for components we need (like water-aka hyaluronic acid) to leak out and ickies we don’t want (like bacteria) to dig in. You can combat the breakdown by using iS Clinical SHEALD Repair Balm (see the play on words there?), which rebuilds our skin while hydrating from the inside-out with pharmaceutical-grade, botanically-sourced hyaluronic acid that holds over 1800x its weight in water molecularly! AND it contains lipid (fat) molecules that are bio identical to our own skin barrier. This balm is for all skin types.

Another great product to add to your confident skin arsenal is an AlphaRet product. Our experts can help you pick out the one that’s best for you when you come into the Medi Spa, but here’s one great option that works its magic overnight.

You apply a thin layer to a clean, dry face, and then let this serum go to work while you catch some z’s.

Visit the Chasing Vanity Medi Spa and ask one of our experts to create the perfect skincare lineup just for you. Our experts are in-house daily and care about your skin health! They love to nerd out about the great ingredients and great results of these products so do us a favor and give them a reason to talk skincare science! You’ll be empowered, they’ll be empowered. It’s a win-win, and the next time you’re in restocking your “can’t-live-without-it” products, you can both swoon over your clear, radiant, glowing skin!
