What Is HydraFacial? Learn About this Nourishing Skin Treatment

It can be difficult to properly exfoliate, cleanse, and hydrate your skin at home. Skin is complex: Weather, skincare products, water quality, and personal health all impact your complexion. It’s easy for your skin to become congested and textured.

If you want to nourish and hydrate your skin, visit Chasing Vanity Salon & Medi Spa for a HydraFacial in Grand Rapids, MI.

The Three-Step HydraFacial Process

HydraFacials are performed by our expert skincare professionals in three steps. We use a suction and infusion tool to carry out the multistep HydraFacial process. Each step brings you closer to nourished, hydrated, radiant skin. By the end of your HydraFacial, your skin will be softer, smoother, and full of healthy moisture.

Step 1. Cleanse and Peel

What is HydraFacial’s first step? The first step of the HydraFacial process is deep exfoliation. We use a special tool to exfoliate dead skin cells and open up your pores. Once your pores are open, they can absorb more hydration.

Exfoliation gets rid of dead skin cells to reveal the fresh layer underneath. When dead cells build up on the surface of your skin, your complexion starts to look dull and uneven.

We use skin-safe acids to chemically exfoliate during this step as well. Compared to physical exfoliation, chemical exfoliation penetrates deeper into your skin matrix. The peel will loosen bonds between old skin cells and remove them. After the peel, you have a brand-new layer of skin cells ready to show off to the world.

Step 2. Extract and Hydrate

Extractions remove oil, dirt, and debris buildup from the inside of your pores. Everyone has pore buildup from daily life. During your HydraFacial, we extract these harmful materials using vortex suction technology.

HydraFacial extractions are much gentler than traditional skin extractions. Your pores will already be loosened and softened from the chemical peel step.

As we perform suction-based extractions, the HydraFacial wand will infuse moisturizing serums into your pores. This makes the process gentler on your skin and adds hydration. Your skin will feel soothed and moisturized after this step.

Step 3. Fuse and Protect

The last step of a HydraFacial is to apply protective products to seal the surface of your skin. Now that you’ve been infused with plenty of hydration, we apply nourishing serums with peptides and antioxidants. These products will combat skin damage and aging using beneficial skin ingredients.

This step creates a barrier between your skin and the outside world. You are now ready to leave your appointment and face the day with hydrated, glowing, radiant skin.

HydraFacial Benefits

This skin service has a wealth of benefits for your complexion. As the name suggests, it is very hydrating and adds plenty of moisture to your skin. When your skin is hydrated and nourished, it appears more radiant and smoother on the outside.

Some HydraFacial benefits include skin cleansing, anti-aging effects, and a refreshed complexion. This facial is also easier on dry and sensitive skin types because of the added moisture. The suction process is much gentler than forceful extractions as well, so you can expect a more comfortable experience during the treatment.

HydraFacials address skin concerns like enlarged pores, sagging skin, rough skin texture, dryness, and dullness. This treatment works well for almost anyone who has skin concerns. The universal application for all skin types is what makes HydraFacials so innovative and beneficial for your skin.

The vortex-infusion mechanism used in HydraFacials allows us to infuse beneficial skin products while we cleanse and exfoliate. Traditional facials require each step to be completed separately. This makes HydraFacials much more efficient and effective at removing impurities from your pores.

We can customize the serum infusions to match your skin’s needs. For example, if you have aging concerns, we can use retinol-based serums that fight fine lines and wrinkles. If you prefer gentler skincare products, we can use sensitive formulations during your HydraFacial.

The HydraFacial benefits are numerous, and we encourage you to experience them for yourself at our salon.

Before Your HydraFacial

Before you come in for your appointment, we recommend taking certain steps to ensure optimal results. We want you to achieve the best radiant glow possible after your HydraFacial.

You should stop using strong chemicals on your skin for at least 48 hours before your appointment. Products like retinol, retinoids, chemical peels, and enzymes can irritate your skin. We will infuse your pores with nourishing serums, so there is no need to go all out right before the treatment.

We highly recommend limiting your sun exposure and avoiding tanning beds before your HydraFacial. Your skin gets dry and damaged from excessive UV exposure. This will prevent you from getting the best results possible from your HydraFacial.

In general, avoid irritating treatments, products, and peels before your HydraFacial. Our skin professionals will advise you on the best aftercare for your skin once your appointment is over.
